The Practice of Being Kind to Yourself

We all live with a harsh inner critic which, when left unchecked, wears away at our mental and physical health and keeps us from growing into our fullest potential as creative beings. Although it might seem like the critic is here to stay, it is possible to learn techniques to meet and hold yourself with the same compassion and kindness that you would offer a good friend. Over time, this practice can soothe the critic and bring it to rest in a quieter place from which we can achieve optimal mind states for inspiration, innovation and creativity. Lorien will present the latest research findings on self-compassion to provide insight into the way the practice works with your body and mind to bring about holistic, organic, mind-body transformation. This workshop will include gentle yoga asana, guided meditation and relaxation, and opportunities for reflection and discussion. Wear comfortable clothes and bring a pen.
